About Us:
Aloha and welcome to Java Kai Moorpark! Java Kai is a locally owned and operated business that serves the best damn coffee and smoothies with the spirit of Aloha! It is the only shop in Moorpark to find 100% Kona coffee along with natural fruit smoothies, ice cream, milkshakes and an assortment of breakfast items including breakfast burritos, egg sandwiches, waffles, healthy Acai bowls, oatmeal and pastries.
Java Kai Moorpark is owned by Mark and Sandra Howe. Mark and Sandra are residents of Moorpark for 14 years and have two daughters that attend Moorpark public schools.
After working for some 20 years in the corporate world, the Howe's were looking for something different to do and to be closer to home and their daughters. In their search for a business opportunity closer to home, they came across an opportunity to establish a Java Kai in Moorpark.
Java Kai appealed to the Howe's for several reasons. First, the Hawaiian theme was close to Mark's heart as he lived there for a short time as a teenager and his parents lived there for more than 20 years. Second, Java Kai specialized in both coffee and smoothies. The Howe's believed there was a need for a coffee shop on the west end of Moorpark High School in the neighborhood. In addition, Java Kai emphasized the value of family (all franchises are family owned) and that children are the number one priority.
Although the idea of opening up Java Kai in Moorpark was seeded in 2005, the dream did not come to fruition until January, 2009 when Java Kai Moorpark officially opened up for business. Since then, Moorpark residents have experienced Hawaiian coffees, natural fruit smoothies, delicious milkshakes, ice cream and an assortment of breakfast items...all served with the spirit of Aloha!
You can find Mark or Sandra at the shop most every day. They are thrilled to be able to provide Moorpark with a quality product at a reasonable price. In the short time that Java Kai Moorpark has been open they have already provided support to worthy causes such as American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, Moorpark's High Street Theater, Moorpark Boys and Girls Club, local school teachers, administrators and PTA, local churches and Moorpark High School sports. We look forward to continuing support of our local community in the future.
We invite you to take a mini vacation and come in to Java Kai Moorpark. It's Hawaii in Moorpark! Support local Moorpark businesses!
